I spent my first 21 years in Iowa. After graduating Iowa State, I moved to England where I did a M.Sc. at Essex and traveled extensively. I moved to (and fell in love with) California to go to Stanford, where I got my PhD in Artificial Intelligence, and have been in the Bay Area doing research ever since, except for a year living in Melbourne, Australia.
